Power Rangers Preservation Project Q&A - Text version

Note that I also will have a video version with some samples of what they have at the time both this blog post and the video was made. QUESTIONS WERE ASKED TO THE PEOPLE WHO RUN THE "MORPHIN' MUSEUM" YOUTUBE ACCOUNT ON THE TOPIC OF THEIR "POWER RANGERS PRESERVATION PROJECT" VIA EMAIL WITH THE UNDERSTANDING THEY'D ANSWER AFTER THE WINTER HOLIDAYS THE EMAIL WITH THEIR RESPONSES CAME TODAY (NEW YEARS OF 2025), WHICH I'LL PUT HERE: 1.  What caused/motivated the beginning of the Power Rangers Preservation Project? The Preservation Project was essentially motivated by having access to hundreds of VHS tapes and DVDs recovered from production; some with never-before-seen footage. Similar to how the museum in general began from a desire to share our collection with the public, the motivation behind preserving the footage was to make sure it was seen by fans before it became lost. The vast majority, if not all of those tapes, are not one-of-a-kind; so there could...

ATeaTree addendum: Host Audition Process & Clarification

So yeah - it seems to be a common misconception that it's all the same hosts every event and that that's for... whatever reason people want to put forth: "they have favorites who get invited back" or whatever the case may be. But the truth is that every host has to complete an audition process and be judged by a group of volunteer hosts and the host coordinators before being accepted. EVERY EVENT! The current host coordinators have also done good work to make the audition process more fair and welcoming to new auditioners. The old system - and the one that many events use - involved recording an audition on your computer locally while following a provided set of instructions (and other provided materials, like sample donations you had to review and choose which were appropriate to read). This is good, and allows hosts to exercise their judgment and show off their energy and style. BUUUUT it was also open to people repeatedly recording auditions until they felt it was...

Today's interview: ATeaTree (GamesDoneQuick runner/voulnteer/attendee)

THE FOLLOWING INTERVIEW IS OF A VOULNTEER AND ATTENDEE, AND DOES NOT REFLECT THE VIEWS OR BELIEFS OF GDQ OR ANY OF GDQ'S STAFF Me: How's your day going so far? ATeaTree: Day's been busy at work, but otherwise I'm well. Excited about how close we're getting to AGDQ 2025! Me: It slipped my mind it's soon until I heard something about the list being out! Speaking of, do you have any runs this time? ATeaTree: I do not - but that's perfectly okay with me as I didn't submit anything. Me: BTW, can you describe the feeling you have between submission and when the list comes out? ATeaTree: For me, it's "out of sight, out of mind" much of the time with GDQ submissions in particular - I submit to a number of online only marathons and I'm actually more anxious about those submissions. With GDQ submissions, I fully expect to be turned down, so it's more like "sending something out into the ether" - there's less expectation of gett...

New Blog, same type of content (minus CEC)

Yea, I let my "Blogtism with Autism" blog become a Chuck E Cheese interview blog instead, so I made a new Blogger page that's just for interviews with folks (and moved the CEC stuff to the r/chuckecheese subreddit) As of now, I'm in talks with a Games Done Quick regular from the speedrunning marathons. However, who knows what might pop in here!
